SOWK 581/582 Integrative Seminar I
SOWK 581, 582, 283, & 584 is the 4 credit hour is the forum in which students share, compare and analyze their social work educational experience and participate in learning activities focused on application of curriculum content in preparation for the comprehensive exam. It is designed to assist in the integration process, to provide support for students in discussion of learning experiences and to engage students in utilizing course content to enhance their professional practice. Students will apply knowledge of the 10 CSWE Competencies with associated generalist and advanced generalist practice behaviors with the direction of faculty content expertise.

SOWK 496-40: Introduction To Pallative Care
COURSE DESCRIPTION Palliative care is an interdisciplinary and holistic approach for those who have a life threatening illness. It aims to improve the quality of life of patients and their families through prevention, pain management, psychological and spiritual care. This course will focus on identifying current gaps in end of life care and emerging models of palliative care, assessment of the psychological, medical, and spiritual needs of someone living with illness, the importance of cultural sensitivity in service delivery and working in an interdisciplinary team.
