Importing and Creating Your Content
You probably already have a lot of existing content on hand for your course (formally or informally). Materials such as textbook resources, web links, worksheets, presentations, videos -- or at least you know where to get them. Whether you are building your course from scratch or leveraging existing content, this module will walk you through getting that content in your course.
Building Assignments and Activities
A course isn't complete without assignments, discussions, and assessments. These are the activities in your course that engage your students and help to facilitate learning. This module covers the creation of assignments and activities in your course.
Once you import and create course content then design course activities and assignments, it's time to organize those items in a way that facilitates an effective student learning experience.
Assessing Assignments and Activities
How will you assess your students' learning? Canvas has a few grading options that can help you provide adequate feedback to student work. Learn about Rubrics, SpeedGrader, and the Canvas Gradebook.
Managing Your Students and Course Presence
When it comes time to facilitate and deliver your course, you want to make sure you remain on top of your messages, discussions, assignment submissions and other personal settings. Managing your students and maintaining your presence in the course is a key aspect to creating an engaging online experience for your learners.
The pages in this module provide video overviews for some of the main Canvas features available to you as an instructor.
