PHED 125-033: Swing Dance

Swing dancing is a type of social dance that originated from jazz music and was popular during the 1920s. Over time, the two styles that became the post popular were the East Coast Swing and the West Coast Swing. You will learn both styles in this course.

East Coast Swing is characterized by an up-tempo beat, often accompanied by fast footwork such as kicks, spins, and taps. West Coast Swing is done at a slower pace and is perfect for most hip hop music.
