Week 1 Overview
Module Introduction
We'll spend Week 1 of Learning Canvas for Teachers getting a hang of the LMS's most basic features: customizing user profiles; navigating the Dashboard and Courses; and customizing modules, the building blocks of all Canvas courses. We will also touch on creating and organizing assignments, customizing (or bypassing) the course syllabus page, and creating/editing rubrics!
Student Learning Objectives
At the end of this module, students will be able to:
- Generate basic course and navigation settings.
- Construct an online course outline by creating and organizing course modules.
- Differentiate between items available to be added to modules.
- Generate and assign rubrics to course assessments.
Week 1 Activities
Below is an outline of the items for which you will be responsible this week. Activities are divided into three modules. Each module will require between 30 and 60 minutes to complete; we recommend you break up this workload over the course of a few days.)
