Whether it's a consultation for Canvas, a discussion on pedagogy, or website support the team at IITWS is here to help instructors however they can. Audience Response and Polling - Poll Everywhere, Audience Response/Polling
Audience response systems allow students to participate in real time polling, surveys, or quizzes using their own mobile devices or proprietary hardware response devices known as clickers.
Canvas Learning Management System
Providing support for the learning management system (LMS), which allows for the administration, documentation, tracking, reporting and delivery of electronic educational technology courses or training programs.
Collaborative Learning Tools - Respondus StudyMate, Quizlet, Learning Tool Authoring
Web-based (usually) authoring tools that enable instructors to create learning activities that students access within online courses or anywhere on the Internet. Instructors and students can create items collaboratively; student participation can be monitored and graded.
Digital Signage Support
Provide training for the digital signage application, consultations on digital signage best practices, and instruction on utilizing applicable design software.
Equipment Checkout
Providing checkout of tablets, headsets, webcams, GoPro's and other tech products for the purposes of instruction. The service may be provided to fulfill a short-term need, or to allow instructors to "test-drive" new technology to determine product viability prior to purchase.
Faculty Consulting and Support Services, Faculty Consulting
Providing support for all facets of the teaching and learning environment.
Learning Analytics
Providing technical support for learning analytics reporting and analysis of LMS and other instructional data to improve teaching and learning.
Learning Space Design
Provide learning space design consultations, which includes evaluating learning activities in a space, student-teacher interations, needs of faculty and or discipline, learning objectives and student success.
Medial Digital Asset Management
Medial is a Digital Asset Management system for instructional video produced by faculty, staff, and students. The service allows uploading of digital media, sharing of media in a Canvas course and collecting and cataloging of an instructor's media.
New Online Course Creation and Updates
Consultation on new course design and structure for online courses bridging technology and pedagogy.
Open Educational Resources (OER)
Providing support to faculty and students for the use and exploration of open educational resources.
Panopto Lecture Capture
Standalone software service for capturing lectures, lessons, or other presentations. Recordings can be video or audio only and can be live-streamed if desired. Recorded lectures and presentations may be embedded for private viewing within a Canvas course or made public on the web.
Plagiarism Detection
Turnitin and Vericite are web-based plagiarism detection services which check documents for unoriginal content. The results can be used to identify similarities to existing sources or can be used in formative assessment to help students learn how to avoid plagiarism and improve their writing.
Publisher Support - McGraw Hill, Pearson, Cengage, etc.
Integrations with LMS and support for publisher-provided online homework, tutorial and assessment tools.
Remote Proctoring (Respondus)
Respondus Monitor is a companion product for LockDown Browser that enables institutions to protect the integrity of non-proctored, online exams. Students use their own computer and a webcam to record assessment sessions, all without leaving the institution's learning management system.
Revision of Online Courses
Consultation on revision of course design and structure for online courses bridging technology and pedagogy.
Secure Test Services - Respondus Lockdown Browser
Respondus LockDown Browser is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment within the LMS (Canvas). Students are unable to print, copy, go to another URL, or access other applications. When an assessment is started, students are locked into it until they submit it for grading.
Student Consultation and Support
Providing technical support for enterprise applications deployed in the learning environment.
Web Conferencing - Zoom, Blackboard Collaborate, Big Blue Button, etc.
Provide web conferencing systems that allow groups to meet, present, and collaborate. Participants in a web conferencing session can have discussions using voice or text chat, write, draw, and paste images on a shared whiteboard. These web conferences can view or share documents or software running on any participant’s computer, use breakout rooms to work in smaller groups and conduct polls and give quizzes.
Web Conferences can be record sessions for later viewing privately within a Canvas course or publicly.
Workshops, Training, and Events
Workshops, training, and events for faculty and staff to learn about using technology to enhance student success in and out of the classroom. Examples include: Summer Boot Camp, Spring and Fall Showcases, TEL Lunches, etc.
