Academic Honesty / Plagiarism

EWU expects the highest standards of academic integrity of its students. Academic integrity is the foundation of a fair and supportive learning environment for all students. Personal responsibility for academic performance is essential for equitable assessment of student accomplishments. Visit the EWU Academic Integrity Policy page for more information.

Accessible Technology

Eastern Washington University strives to fully include everyone who engages with EWU, including equitable access to web content. If you have questions or concerns regarding Accessible Technology, please visit the Accessible Technology page or contact the Accessible Technology Coordinator at accessibility@ewu.edu.

Add / Drop

EWU add / drop policies can be found on Records and Registration's Registration page. This includes information on auditing courses, and tuition waivers as well as registration and dropping courses.

Confidentiality of Student Information (FERPA)

Students can expect all EWU employees including administration, instructors, and staff to follow Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act guidelines as defined by the Registrars Office at EWU.  These expectations can be found on Records and Registration's FERPA page

Classrooms are a public forum. Therefore, consider the context before including private information in course discussions and assignments viewed by other students.

Holidays and Religious Accommodations

EWU's Holidays and Religious Accommodations Policy describes the availability of holidays for students and employees. It also describes the procedure for requesting religious accommodations.

Minimum Work Requirements

EWU's policy regarding minimum work requirements for students per credit hour can be found on the Program and Course Management page. This chapter establishes university standards with regard to the definition of “credit hour” and the assignment of credit hours to courses and other types of academic work.

Student Accommodations and Support Services

Student Accommodations and Support Services (SASS) serves students who may be struggling with personal challenges and / or obstacles. SASS coordinates the care and resources students need to overcome barriers to their personal and academic success. SASS can provide crisis care, case management, and appropriate and reasonable accommodations on an individual basis. More information can be found on their InsideEWU page.

Student Complaints and Grievances

If efforts to address complaints and grievances are not resolved with the instructor, staff or administration of the program, the formal complaints and grievances policies of EWU should be followed.  These are included on the State Authorization page.
