Hello and Welcome to Learning Canvas for Teachers!

My name is Rick Lewis. I am an Instructional Designer working with the Instructional Technology team here at Eastern Washington University, and I will be the facilitator for this two-week course. Prior to joining EWU I was a secondary English Language Arts educator for eight years. I received my Masters of Education from The University of Montana in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Instructional Design in 2015 and am excited to get to put this coursework into action here at Eastern!

The goals of this course are: to familiarize new and existing staff with the basic features and functionalities of the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS), to get you a head start on developing your own online courses, and to introduce you to some of the advanced tools and services provided by the team here at Instructional Technology.

As stated on the course home page, there are two weekly Question & Answer discussion boards intended to be help spaces, but if you need immediate help, or have a question that you feel would be better answered over the phone, feel free to contact Instructional Technology at 509-359-6656, Monday through Friday between 8AM and 5PM and any of the team will be happy to help you out!
